The Heritage Hands Foundation, under the exceptional leadership of its President, Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare I, Development Queenmother of the Oseawuo Division in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, has once again demonstrated its unwavering dedication to sustainable development. Over the weekend, the Foundation played a central role in a landmark tree-planting exercise held in Kpando Gadza , in collaboration with the Kpando City Lions Club and the Kpando Gadza Women Association. The initiative, which focused on restoring degraded areas and enhancing community resilience to climate change, underscored the Foundation’s commitment to environmental advocacy at the grassroots level.
As a highly respected traditional leader and a climate-conscious development advocate, Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare I brought visibility and purpose to the project, personally joining the planting efforts and engaging with community members. The exercise, which saw the planting of rubber trees, mahogany, neem, and ornamental species along key roads linking Gadza to Dzoanti and Agudze, was more than symbolic —it was a direct response to the urgent call for environmental restoration and climate protection. In her brief remarks, the Queenmother emphasized that “the fight against climate change must begin at the community level, with bold, visible action.”
Central to the program’s success was the cultural and local ownership brought by Mama Kodzogasi II, Queenmother of Kpando Gadza, who mobilized the Gadza Women Association in full force. Their traditional songs and blessings added depth to the exercise, making it a communal rite of renewal. Local traditional leaders including the Fiator, Dikro, and Fianor lent their blessings, signifying deep-rooted support for climate action led by women and traditional institutions. The Heritage Hands Foundation was widely praised for not only funding and supporting the activity, but for making climate change a top priority in its development portfolio, alongside education and youth empowerment.
This bold green intervention reaffirms Heritage Hands Foundation as a forward-thinking and impact-driven organization, leveraging tradition, leadership, and innovation to build a more sustainable future for Ghana—one tree at a time.
