Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare, the revered Nkosuohemaa of the Oseawuo Division of Okyeman, has been honoured with a prestigious Peace, Humanitarian Service and Development Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to national development, education, and community empowerment.

The award was presented at the 2025 Global Peace Ambassadors Awards and NGOs Conference held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the British Council Auditorium in Accra.

The high-profile ceremony, organised by the Aim Ghana Foundation in collaboration with the National Peace Council of Ghana, brought together global peace advocates, civil society organisations, traditional leaders, development partners, and policy influencers.

Held under the patronage of renowned international evangelist Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, the event celebrated individuals and institutions whose work continues to promote peace, unity, social justice, and sustainable development across Ghana and beyond.

Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare’s recognition was anchored on her long-standing commitment to social transformation through education, cultural preservation, and humanitarian service.

As the Founder and President of the Heritage Hands Foundation (HHF), a unique coalition of Queenmothers dedicated to cultural empowerment and community development, she has played a central role in promoting Ghanaian heritage while addressing critical social needs.

Under her leadership, the foundation has undertaken several impactful initiatives, including the donation of educational materials to schools nationwide and the construction of a modern six-seater toilet facility with a mechanised borehole at the Ningo-Ahwiam D/A Basic School—an intervention that has significantly improved sanitation and learning conditions for nearly 2,000 pupils.

Her work through HHF has also earned official endorsement from the Diaspora Affairs Office under the Office of the President.

Beyond cultural advocacy, Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare has made remarkable contributions through the Rainbow Trust Foundation (RTF), where she serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

For over two decades, the foundation has been at the forefront of promoting literacy, education, and human development across Ghana.

Through a strategic partnership with Book Aid International in the United Kingdom, RTF has supported 239 schools and institutions, established more than 80 libraries nationwide, distributed over 400,000 books, and trained 285 teacher-librarians in basic library management.

These efforts have significantly enhanced access to educational resources, particularly in underserved and rural communities, earning her international recognition and a place on the International Advisory Board of Book Aid International.

In recent months, the foundation has expanded its impact with the introduction of an innovative initiative dubbed “Education and Sports,” designed to integrate literacy development into youth sports programmes.

The project, launched in partnership with Book Aid International, made its debut at the Lucky Mensah Football Academy on December 14, 2025, aiming to nurture both the intellectual and athletic potential of young talents.

Complementing this is an upcoming flagship project, “One Hospital, One Library,” scheduled for rollout in 2026, which seeks to establish libraries within healthcare facilities to promote medical education, patient learning, and holistic wellbeing.

Further extending her development agenda, Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare is spearheading plans to construct a mechanised borehole at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana, a project intended to enhance access to clean water for students, staff, and the wider university community.

The honour bestowed on Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare stands as a powerful testament to a life devoted to service, leadership, and nation-building.
