Heritage Hands Foundation (HHF) had the distinct honor of receiving an invitation from the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Hon. Sophia Karen, Founder of Eligreen Agric and Agribusiness Hub, to attend the official launch of the Women and Youth in Agribusiness initiative on May 27, 2025.

Themed “Breaking Barriers, Securing Market Access for Women and Youth in Agribusiness,” the event highlighted the pressing need to create inclusive opportunities within Ghana’s agribusiness sector. It brought together policymakers, industry leaders, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders to discuss innovative ways to empower women and youth, ensuring their active participation in the value chain and access to sustainable markets.

As an organization committed to women and youth empowerment, HHF was proud to stand alongside partners and leaders who share a vision of creating equitable platforms in agriculture—a sector that remains the backbone of Ghana’s economy.

Why This Matters

Despite their immense contributions, women and youth often face systemic barriers in agribusiness, including limited access to financing, market entry challenges, and restricted participation in decision-making. Initiatives like this provide the momentum needed to dismantle these barriers and unlock the full potential of Ghana’s agricultural future.

Heritage Hands Foundation’s Commitment

Our participation at this launch reaffirms HHF’s mission to champion the voices of women and youth. We believe that by investing in capacity building, mentorship, and partnerships, we can ensure that young people and women not only enter the agribusiness space but also thrive in it.

A Call to Action

We commend the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Eligreen Agric and Agribusiness Hub for leading this timely initiative. Heritage Hands Foundation looks forward to contributing to this collective effort, building synergies, and advancing programs that truly break barriers for women and youth across Ghana.

Together, let us secure not just market access—but also a prosperous, inclusive future in agribusiness.
