At La Antesson RC Basic School in Accra, an inspiring transformation has taken place under the Explorer Library Project, a community-driven initiative aimed at promoting literacy, creativity, and a culture of reading among young learners.
The journey began with an unused classroom space (Photograph 01). Once dormant and empty, the room had great potential to serve as a resource center for the school. With the support of our partners and volunteers, this vision was brought to life.
Through collective effort, the classroom was refurbished and fully furnished into a modern, student-friendly library (Photograph 02). Bright and welcoming, the space was carefully designed to spark curiosity and make reading an enjoyable experience.
The final stage of the project involved equipping the library with a diverse collection of books (Photograph 03). From storybooks and reference materials to academic texts, the shelves are now filled with resources that cater to different age groups and reading levels. These books will provide learners with opportunities to explore new ideas, strengthen their literacy skills, and develop a lifelong love for reading.
The Explorer Library Project is more than just a physical space—it is an investment in the future of the students of La Antesson RC Basic School. By creating access to books and a conducive learning environment, we are empowering children to dream bigger, learn more, and reach their full potential.
We are grateful to all partners, donors, and community members who made this transformation possible. Together, we continue to create spaces where knowledge thrives and futures are built.

With your generosity, we can reach more schools, empower more women, and create an inclusive future for Ghana & beyond.
